It might seem to be a strange question coming from your insurance agent, but it is a fair one.
Multi-Policy Discounts
What we are referring to is taking advantage of standard discounts such as a multi-policy discount. A multi-policy discount is a discount given to policy-holders that have more than one policy with the same insurance company.
We are sure that if you have your Auto and Homeowners insurance with the same company, you are receiving this discount. But what you might not know is that many companies increase the discount as you add more policies to your account. Even if you are not a homeowner, Renters Insurance and Condo Owners Insurance may qualify for a discount of up to 15% or more.
Other Common Discounts
In addition, there are many other discounts that you might already be receiving such as Safe Driver, Low Mileage Vehicle, Good Student, Student Away, Senior Driver, and many others. Where discounts are sometimes overlooked is when it comes to insuring all of the toys that you have as well. ATVs, UTVs, Boats, Motorcycles are all examples of property that may be eligible for additional discounts.
Your Umbrella Policy
Another question for you: Do you currently have an Umbrella Policy? If the answer is no, or you are not sure, we do need to talk. An Umbrella policy is a policy that provides additional liability protection should your loss exceed your base policy limits. Think about that. One policy that gives you additional protection on all of the other policies mentioned above.
